Course Description:
UVM Medical Center offers a perioperative nursing course developed by The Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). The purpose of this course is to prepare the registered nurse for entry level practice in perioperative nursing with a focus on intraoperative care. The course consists of a complimentary 1-year AORN Membership, a didactic online web based learning modules along with a Preceptor, Mentor based clinical experience. Emphasis will be placed on performing functions directly related to circulating and Scrubbing in the operating room. A rotation through the seven services (Main Campus: General, GYN, Urology and Plastics. Fanny Allen: Sports Medicine, Eyes and Vascular) occurs during this internship. Upon successful completion of the AORN web based course, the intern will receive a certificate of completion and 41.7 CEUs.
This position will start in May 2023.
EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
