Position Purpose:
The Network Engineering Manager will be primarily focused on the design, implementation and supporting documentation of the GPC Enterprise Network. The manager oversees a team that works on complex network problems that require in-depth evaluation of various factors and formulate solutions and strategies that affect positive outcomes. This role encompasses large-scale systems and projects across a diverse and multi-faceted ecosystem comprising data centers, distribution centers, stores and multiple clouds.
Responsibilities:
- Provides management and leadership for a team of Network Engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of a secure and reliable network infrastructure
- Leads the charge on the design and implementation of efficient network architectures
- Manages network capacity and network resources such as bandwidth, latency and physical assets
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans and procedures and works to ensure network resilience for critical network functions such as DHCP and DNS
- Evaluates new technologies and recommends hardware and software solutions that align with the corporate strategic vision.
- Implements network policies and procedures, providing technical guidance and training to network administrators and users.
- Provides timely and effective communication of network issues to appropriate affected customers, including postmortem updates once issues have been resolved
- Analyze and prioritize problems as they arise, identifies reoccurring and potential problems, recommends and implements process and/or controls for prevention
- Coordinates complex Network and Security changes and requests with the Network Engineering team
- Provide effective staff development process to identify talent and opportunities for improvement to build a stronger Network Team for GPC

- GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other related technical field and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 10+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility within large-scale corporate technology environments
- Ability to manage and accomplish complex tasks through directing the efforts of others
- Working experience with Cisco and IOS including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with various network technologies, services, and protocols that are typical of a large enterprise network including SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, and QoS
- Knowledge of carrier-based technologies such as TDM, MPLS, SONET and OC level circuits
- Experience with Wireless Control Systems, Access Points, and 802.1x, PKI, EAP, TLS technologies
- Prior experience with Network and Security technologies including but not limited to Cisco Fortinet and Palo Alto solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent organization skills including the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Excellent customer service skills together with experience supporting corporate customers and service providers in production
