About the role: Allogene is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the HR team supporting Research and Development.

Reporting to the Director of the HRBP function, you will be a key member of the HR Leadership as well as the Research and Development Leadership team (which includes Research, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Translational Science, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Program Management).

You will be working across a broad variety of areas, including working with leaders to mentor, retain and grow their staff, assist with furthering the training and development program, handling employee relations matters, helping to cultivate the company’s One Allogene culture and other projects as needed.

This is a hybrid role, which will require onsite work 3 days each week, or more depending on business needs This role will located at the company’s headquarters in South San Francisco, CA, but may also require periodic travel to the company’s manufacturing facility in Newark, CA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Partner with the Research and Development function to provide HR support Be a key member of a small HR team to provide leadership across the organization as needed Further the training and development programs for the organization Partner with managers and leaders to assess the performance of their teams to assist in career planning, retention and growth Partner with management to mitigate and/or resolve employee relations issues Consult management and employees especially during the performance review process Communicate company policies and provide recommendations on how to improve internal processes Recruit, interview candidates and assist the talent acquisition team as needed Assist with planning company events and cross-functional activities Position Requirements & Experience: 8 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) Experience working in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry highly preferred
– specifically within entrepreneurial, fast-paced growth organizations An experienced professional with a demonstrated full understanding of HR business partnership Willingness to think outside of the box and adapt best practices to our small, but growing environment Elegant approach to employee relations issues, including the ability to provide difficult feedback to employee, managers and leaders at all levels of the organization Familiarity with Federal and California state laws, OSHA, and FDA compliance Exceptional attention-to-detail with the ability to meet aggressive timelines Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in areas of responsibility Understanding of the importance of confidentiality Ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization at all levels Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
